Prices

May to September 560 € rent for studio, bedroom (incl. sheets), kitchen, libary / a month incl. electricity and water.
October - April 600 € / a month.
The studios are 14-16 qm.
A wheel is available.


Studio information

Glaze materials differ in Germany so it might be good to either ship or bring glazes with you. Any specific ceramics tools you wish to use you should bring with you as well. Other studio supplies such as glazes, brushes, paper, tape, plastic etc are all available at local shops or you can already find at the center.


Artists are responsible for all material and firing costs.

Berlin and Planning your Trip

As you plan your trip be sure to allow enough time to enjoy both your studio work and the wonderful sights and offerings Berlin has to offer. A Berlin or German travel guide will help you to plan your trip. Otherwise you will find travel guides and a Berlin map in your room.

Once in Berlin you will find that the city is easily accessed by the eficient an inexpensie local transportation system: U-bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus. Ticket machines for all of these have pages in several languages, just touch the aapropriate flag. Routes are well mapped at each station and stops are announced before each Stop.

The Pankow neighbourhood

The residency is located one block from pankow center and local tram and bus Stops. The U-Bahn and S-Bahn station is about three blocks from the residency facility.
There are two Large city parks within walking distance and most needs can be met by the businesses within the town center. In the imediate vicinity you will find in walking distance:

Arriving in Berlin

There are two airports in Berlin: Tegel and Schönefeld. Tegel is much more convenient to the residency as described below.

Schönefeld (Airport)
The trip from Schönefeld to Pankow takes about an hour by train. You would take the S-Bahn from the airport to Alexanderplatz and at Alexanderplatz switch to the U2 to Pankow. As Pankow is the last stop on this line, this is not a difficult trip. The residency facilty is then about a ten minute walk from the station. See map.

The trip from Schönefeld is not ideal by taxi as it takes about an hour and would cost approximately 50 €.
10% is the normal tipp in Germany. The taxisdriver will hug you if you give 20 %.
If you elect to take a taxi from the airport give the driver the directions below.

Tegel (Airport)
The trip from the Tegel airport to the residency is takes about 15-20 minutes and is easily be accomplished by taxi. A taxi ride from Tegel to the center of Pankow will cost between 17-20 €. 10% is the normal tipp in Germany. The taxisdriver will hug you if you give 20 %. To take a taxi from the airport simply give the driver the directions below:
